CODE of CONDUCT

01/

Purpose

At Which/Craft Studio we have a few fundamental principles that we follow.  The initial intent of our Website was to showcase our 'For-Sale' Items to sell as well as the Cosplays we do.

With the addition of the  Blogs and Galleries, in addition to Social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, Social interaction between individuals will occur.

Our website will hopefully evolve to encompass important ideals like self-improvement and learning more about the world around us. And while we pursue being better people, we feel it’s important to clearly state that while doing so, we will be completely inclusive to the largest number of participants. We want all of you to be on board with us on this crazy journey.

As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for everyone -  regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and religion (or lack thereof). This code of conduct outlines our expectations for anyone who participates in our community, as well as what happens  - when you don’t play nice.

We invite everyone who takes part in Which/Craft Studio in all its forms to help us create safe and positive experiences for everyone.

03/

Expected Behavior

The following behaviors are expected and specifically requested of all community members:

  • Participate in an authentic and active way. In doing so, you contribute to the health and longevity of what we do.

  • Have Fun! Discuss, Question and Ask!

  • We believe in Free Thought and Speech - with Responsibility.  Exercise consideration and respect in your speech and actions. Basically, reread and think about what you’re saying before hitting that submit button.

  • Attempt collaboration before conflict. Most disagreements don’t require arguing to sort out.

  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech. Our tolerance for this sort of thing statistically rounds down to zero.

  • Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants. Let us know if you notice a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or violations of this code of conduct, even if it seems inconsequential at the time.

Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behavior from any community member, including sponsors and those with decision-making authority, will not be tolerated.

Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. We won’t start a debate about it.

Just stop.

If a community member engages in unacceptable behavior, we may take any action deemed appropriate, up to and including a temporary ban or permanent expulsion from the community without warning. It’s kind of like those signs in bars that say:

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

Same thing here.

License and Attribution

This Code of Conduct is a working document, and is adapted from Stumptown Syndicate and is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license.

Portions of this text were derived from the Django Code of Conduct and the Geek Feminism Anti-Harassment Policy.

02/

Culture Citizenship

A supplemental goal of this code of conduct is to establish and maintain culture citizenship by encouraging participants to recognize and strengthen the relationships between our actions and their effects on our community.

What we mean by that is if you see someone who is making an extra effort to ensure Which/Craft Studio is welcoming, friendly, and encourages all participants to contribute to the fullest extent, please recognize their efforts.

Give them like a virtual high-five or something, and let one of the staff know so we can acknowledge their badassery directly!

04/

Unacceptable Behavior

We understand and acknowledge that we all have those moments where we devolve to being twelve again. We enjoy humor and encourage its use!

However, the following sorts of things are unacceptable here at Which/Craft Studio:

  • Violence, threats of violence or violent language directed against another person.

  • Sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist or otherwise discriminatory jokes and language.

  • Posting or displaying or violent material.

  • Posting or threatening to post other people’s personally identifying information (“doxing”).

  • Personal insults, and specifically those related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability.

  • Unwelcome sexual attention. This includes sexualized comments or jokes and unwelcomed sexual advances.

  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking or following, even when that extends to websites other than Which/Craft Studio

  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior. Being a cheerleader for crappy conduct will earn you the same punishment.

Speaking of …
